Q. Do our intestines contain bacteria?

Indeed, bacteria reside in our intestines. Not all bacteria are harmful; in fact, some are beneficial. For instance, the common bacterium E. coli, which is present in human intestines, aids in the digestion of beans and green vegetables and produces gasses. Blood clotting is brought on by vitamin K, which is produced by the same bacteria.
